Washington, D.C.; New York, N.Y. (August 14, 2015) -- The Atlantic will present an exclusive screening of IFC’s new television series Documentary Now! followed by a discussion with the show’s stars and creators Fred Armisen and Bill Hader, producer and writer Seth Meyers, and director and producer Rhys Thomas, on Tuesday, August 18 at 8PM in New York City. The Atlantic’s Washington editor-at-large Steve Clemons and MSNBC’s Alex Wagner will moderate the conversation. Documentary Now! pays tribute to and parodies decades of classic documentary filmmaking, and will premiere on IFC on Thursday, August 20 at 10PM.

The event will screen the first two episodes of the six-part series, followed by a panel conversation to explore what went into the show’s creation, the link between documentary filmmaking and satire, and the future of the entertainment industry.

The evening event will take place at New York’s New World Stages beginning at 8PM.  Media are invited to cover the red carpet starting at 6:30PM.  For credentials, please RSVP to The Atlantic’s Samantha Zeldin at szeldin@theatlantic.com and 202-266-7196.
