U.S. Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker to Discuss Updates to the National Export Initiative at The Atlantic’s Headquarters Tuesday, May 13

Washington, D.C. (May 9, 2014)— On Tuesday morning, The Atlantic will host U.S. Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker, as she discusses the state of the export economy and the push to help U.S. companies become more competitive and connected. The Secretary will also describe the Administration’s vision for the next phase of the National Export Initiative, part of the Commerce Department’s ‘Open for Business Agenda,’ which was unveiled last November.

The speech will be followed by a one-on-one “Atlantic Exchange” interview, moderated by The Atlantic's Washington Editor-at-Large Steve Clemons.  The Atlantic will then convene a panel of business and government leaders for a broader assessment of U.S. trade and export policy, areas for improvement, and future opportunities for growth.

Media interested in attending the event should contact The Atlantic’s Alexi New (anew@theatlantic.com). The interview will be webcast live via The Atlantic’s Events Channel where it will be archived for later viewing.
