Will Lab-Grown Meat Save the World?
Lab-grown meat could be our answer to world hunger and climate change.
Right now, scientists are "growing" meat and other animal products in labs. Down the line, much of this could be done with 3D printers, allowing for precise customization (like the fat content of steaks) and even printing of entire animals, bones and all (Thanksgiving turkey, anyone?). When these methods and the meat they produce become mainstream and available, we’ll have a new source of animal protein for food that is much better for the environment than current industrial farming.
