Who's Opposed to Syrian Refugees in Detroit?

The Detroit metropolitan area, Dearborn especially, has long attracted Arabs—in fact, immigrants from the Middle East have been settling there since the early 20th century. Recently, Syrian refugees have been moving into town and meeting some resistance from conservative residents. The team at 1 Stop Media spoke with several families that have resettled in the area as well as the people who oppose them moving there to create this short documentary, Stateless. “How could you not be grateful to America?” asks one refugee in the film. “How would we benefit from harming the community?”
