The Atlantic asked some of Washington's top voices, including Madeline Albright, Ben Rhodes, Chris Murphy, Julián Castro, and Loretta Lynch, about how our current era will be remembered decades from now. "My hope is that this will be looked upon as a time of progress," says Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Julián Castro. Other answers include criminal-justice reform, progress on climate change, and the push for greater equality.

These interviews took place at the 2015 Washington Ideas Forum.
