In 2011, in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, a homemade bomb detonated beside Sergeant First Class Aaron Causey, costing him both legs. "That first moment I saw him, the only thing I could think is, 'What do we do now?'" his wife Kathleen says in this short documentary, The Next Part. The film is an intimate and unflinching look at Causey and his wife's journey through recovery, as well as their struggle to conceive before Aaron’s medical treatments eventually sterilize him.

This documentary was created by Shoulder 2 Shoulder; for more information you can visit their website. The company is currently in pre-production for their next documentary film, which will also be directed by Erin Sanger.
