When Chris Chapman was diagnosed with cancer, he and his wife struggled with the impact of chemotherapy on his body. "There are half a dozen different medications that they want him to use to help with the side effects of chemo and radiation," his wife says in this short film by Angie Bird. "So now you're dealing with side effects on top of side effects." The couple found that marijuana edibles helped mitigate the effects of cancer treatment: Chris's appetite came back, his nausea subsided. The film is simple and honest—for most of it, the couple is making "Chappy's Weed Butter," edible medicinal marijuana that Chris uses when he needs it.
Bird is represented by the Skin and Bones Film Company. She directed the documentary You Won't Regret That Tattoo, which we've featured on Atlantic Video.
