The Joys of Roller Skating in San Francisco

In the heart of San Francisco, there is a group of people who spend their spare time and energy roller skating and they really don't care what you think. Their skating is often costumed and choreographed, and it mostly acts as a kind of meditation. "I smoke a joint and I spin around 50 times," says one participant in this short film by Daniel Soares. "You don't see a place where you get people of all ages all colors all races and all walks of life coming together to have one kind of fun," adds another.
