Graffiti Busting in Los Angeles

Larry Bender has spent 20 years covering up graffiti in and around the L.A. area. He's a professional "graffiti buster," splattered in paint, who drives around the city on the lookout for tags. Tom Explores Los Angeles, a YouTube series created by Tom Carroll and Derrick Josesph Deblasis, visits Bender as he goes through his daily routine. "Stopping graffiti isn't really the point," he says. "It's more a matter keeping communities looking nice and painting something when it needs to be painted."

On CityLab, Laura Bliss took a look at the remarkable "symbiosis" between street artists and graffiti busters. If this short grabbed your attention, I recommend reading her piece.
