Why Do People Love Times Square?

Oct 01, 2014 | 580 videos
Video by Michael Tapp

Filmmaker Michael Tapp spent a night along Broadway's iconic plaza, interviewing New Yorkers and tourists alike about the allure of one of the world's busiest attractions. (A construction worker explains it most succinctly: "A lot of people and a lot of noise!") A third of a million people pass through Times Square every day, according to this excellent story by David Owen—and as Tapp discovered, a whole lot of them are interesting characters. This short documentary was co-produced by Bill Novak.
