"The idea is simply that we need to make sure that it is not just about opinion -- that it's important to have examination and analysis," the PBS host says, describing his vision for the role of television in the years to come. From the Aspen Ideas Festival, Rose explains, "television is going to continue to be an important part of our life," but Socratic dialogue is the key to a healthy democracy. It's up to experts to make sure digital technology facilitates the highest level of discussion, he says.
