A short documentary from Etsy's Handmade Portraits series introduces David Sokosh, who assembles new wristwatches from antique parts. After his art gallery closed during the recession, he launched Brooklyn Watches, selling his creations via his Etsy store. This video is by Andrew David Watson and Zach Pontz, who describes how he discovered Sokosh and his watch business on the Etsy blog:

With his rounded spectacles, crisp white shirt, jacket vest, and thick mustache complemented by slicked-back hair, he looked like a vestige of a bygone era. It turned out he was an anachronism of sorts — a watchmaker.
