Visiting the Observatorio del Teide in the Canary Islands to teach time-lapse photography, Luis Caldevilla and Luciano Rodríguez decided to turn their cameras on the surrounding landscape at night. The observatory, part of the the Canary Islands Astrophysics Institute, takes advantage of the island's clear skies and location between east and west to study the sun with solar telescopes. Looking down from its vantage point 2,390 meters above sea level, the filmmakers capture seething clouds over the city below in this time-lapse video, A dos pasos del infierno (Two Steps From Hell).
