Alan Taylor's 20-part World War II restrospective is a sweeping look back at the war that defined a century. This week he shares photographs from the home front, so here at the Video channel we've selected a few highlights from the Internet Archive's vast collection of films from this era. 

This surreal short film from Paramount Pictures tells the story of the ghost of a dead soldier who returns home. His message to his family is a little bit of wartime propaganda; he encourages them to make sacrifices at home so that soldiers will get the supplies they need on the front.
