As rumored, Apple will hold an event next week, Tuesday September 10, where the company will likely announce an iPhone or two, according to this invitation sent out to the press today via The Loop's Jim Dalrymple. Per usual, the invite says a lot without actually saying anything, at least according to rumormongers who like to read into these things. The colored dots, for example, could represent the rumored cheap iPhone that supposedly will come in colors other than black and white. In addition, Apple's expected to release an updated version of the iPhone 5 — a.k.a the iPhone 5S, in rumor speak. That, too, they say will come in an additiona; new color: Gold. So: Everyone — buyers of both cheap and expensive phones — will see a brighter day. Get it?
Of course, we'll have to wait until game day to get the full, actual details of the new devices, including the release date. Though, the rumor reporters at 9to5Mac think they know that, too, guessing somewhere around September 18 through 22nd as the big day, based on Verizon employee vacation schedules. In just a week, Apple will solve all these mysteries and more at its Cupertino headquarters starting at 1:00 p.m. EST. Check back here, where we'll be covering it all, live.
