As the world unofficially commemorates Steve Jobs, the official funeral will take place on Friday, "a person familiar with the matter" told The Wall Street Journal's Ian Sherr and Geoffrey Fowler. "The funeral is characterized as a small private gathering, this person said. The person wouldn't say where or when the event was taking place, citing respect for Mr. Jobs and his family's privacy," they write. Apple CEO Tim Cook sent an email to Apple staff about the company's own plans: "We are planning a celebration of Steve’s extraordinary life for Apple employees that will take place soon. If you would like to share your thoughts, memories and condolences in the interim, you can simply email firstname.lastname@example.org."
