It looks like Meg Whitman is being more than just mentioned as Hewlett-Packard's next CEO. All Things Digital's Kara Swisher is reporting that she's "poised to be named CEO of Hewlett-Packard later today after the markets are closed." Swisher stressed that things could still change, but her sources say that "it is nearly a done deal." And if the former California gubernatorial candidate and eBay CEO takes over it won't just be in an interim capacity as has been speculated:

"Meg is not someone who wants to be a steward of a process to find another CEO for HP," said one source. "She wants to run the company and be a strong leader for what she considers an important tech powerhouse."
