Video of the Day: SpaceX Plans to Land Dragon on Mars

Unveiled last week by SpaceX, the space transport company founded by Elon Musk after he made his fortune with PayPal, this CGI video shows what's in the works for Dragon. The first spacecraft operated by a private company to ever successfully orbit the Earth, Dragon will soon be used to deliver cargo to the International Space Station (ISS) now that the Space Shuttle program is coming to an end. But it's more than just a FexEd for satellites and SpaceX wants to make that clear.

"It's time for the next great American adventure," the video announces before demonstrating how Dragon can land on any solid surface in the solar system thanks to powerful escape engines. Yes, even Mars. You should be excited by the possibilities -- the little CGI guys in the video are. They're shown exchanging a high-five after a successful landing on the Red Planet.
