For our annual gift guide, asked contributors and assorted luminaries to tell us what's high on their holiday wish list -- and what charity they'd like their friends to support.

What's on their wish lists?

Arianna Huffington, columnist, author, and president and editor-in-chief of the Huffington Post Media Group
On her list: An analogue alarm clock

I'd love to get an old-fashioned analogue alarm clock (from ClockworkUniverse to put by my bed, instead of being tempted to use my BlackBerry's alarm -- which far too often ends with checking my email in the middle of the night (ruinous for a good night's sleep). I love that the clock evokes tradition and a simpler, not-always-connected time, which makes it easier to unplug.

Huffington's holiday charity: I love the Acumen Fund, headed by Jacqueline Novogratz, investing in startups from Kenya to Karachi and Dubai.
