Jed Bartlet, the fictional president played by Martin Sheen in The West Wing, inspired many a TV-obsessed college student to move to Washington in the early aughts. We made fun of those college students at the time for thinking the show provided any insights inside the Beltway. But a closer look reveals Bartlet's musings are uncannily similar to the sitting president. In fact, we were somewhat impressed. Could Jed Bartlet have done a "Jedi mind meld" with Obama and convinced him his approach to the political process—or at least political pontification—was right?

If last night's State of the Union address is any indication, the answer is yes. Think that's hyperbole? For each quote below, see if you can tell whether it's Jed Bartlet or POTUS giving last night's address.
