What says "I'm a cool dad" more than affixing the visage of Jimi Hendrix to your mortgage payment?

This week, the U.S. Postal Service released a stamp honoring the late musician, as part of its "Music Icons" series. The stamp, as you can see, is rendered in the same bright, psychedelic hues you might see in a Hendrix dorm-room poster. The artist, Rudy Gutierrez talked to the website Ultimate Classic Rock about the design: "It was important to make the art accessible, and to be true to the incredible combination of rawness and virtuosity that was Jimi Hendrix."

And, like his music, the stamp will retain its postage value "forever."
