The French media is convinced that President François Hollande isn't the only one having affairs these days. Notorious French paparazzo Pascal Rostain tells Le Figaro that President Barack Obama is involved with one Beyoncé Knowles-Carter. According to Rostain, the whole story is coming out in The Washington Post tomorrow.
But Post spokesperson Kris Coratti tells Poynter that the pap's claim is "definitely not true." So why is the French press buying Rostain's story? Le Figaro notes that he's "feared for his investigative talents," and that he has a close relationship with former first lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, as well as former Hollande partner Valérie Trierweiler. Hollande recently ended his relationship with Trierweiler to pursue an affair with French actress Julie Gayet. But his relationship with Trierweiler began as an affair as well, and Rostain was the one to lend out his apartment for their secret meetings. So Le Figaro figures Rostain knows what he's talking about.
He told the paper, "I can assure you that the world will talk about" the Obama-Beyoncé affair. The Obamas and the Knowles-Carters have yet to address Rostain's claims.
Conveniently enough, Hollande is headed to the U.S. this week to meet with Obama and attend a state dinner on Tuesday night. The visit has White House staff up in arms. Since Trierweiler is no longer attending, Hollande won't have someone to sit or dance with at the event. But no matter — this will all seem like small potatoes when it's confirmed that Obama is dating America's favorite pop star. (Obama is not dating America's favorite pop star.)
