How did that go for you? Less than two days after the new pundit rules at Fox News surfaced, with special permission suddenly required for Karl Rove to appear on-air, Special Report with Bret Baier has booked him for Monday's show. Politico's Mackenzie Weinger spotted that appearance — and one on Fox Business this time next week — on Rove's official site:

It was just Tuesday when we heard the juicy scoop that Fox's head of programming, Bill Shine, would be personally approving all of Rove and Dick Morris's appearances, by decree of his boss, Roger Ailes. "According to multiple Fox sources, Ailes has issued a new directive to his staff: He wants the faces associated with the election off the air — for now," reported New York's Gabriel Sherman reported on December 4. Maybe that was all the absence needed for Roger Ailes's loving heart to grow fonder?
