Look Out, Wall Street: Elizabeth Warren Is Coming for You
Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren was officially named to the Senate Banking Committee, and now anyone who is a Warren fan — or just a fan of Gordon Gekko looking more like the Geicho gecko — is officially excited to see what she does next.
In a move that shouldn't surprise anyone, newly elected Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren was officially named to the Senate Banking Committee today, in a move first confirmed by The Huffington Post's Ryan Grim. Warren, of course, cut her teeth fighting the big bad guys on Wall Street, sitting Congress's TARP panel despite never making it to the top spot at her Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. But now anyone who is a Warren fan — or just a fan of Gordon Gekko looking more like the Geicho gecko — is officially excited to see what she does next.
Daily Intel's Kevin Roose went for the standard Twitter reaction to a big deal story:
BOOOOM RT @zekejmiller: And it's official. Warren is on the Banking committee

Others were just as excited, maybe even more so than Roose:

Bryce Covert had our favorite reaction, though:
