Mitt Romney justified his coming attacks on Rick Santorum Wednesday morning by arguing, essentially, "He started it." By Wednesday afternoon, the adsĀ arrived: the pro-Romney superPAC Restore Our Future will run an ad in four southern states calling Santorum a creature of Washington. Romney's campaign, which is officially not coordinating with the superPAC, now has a nifty banner for all its press releases attacking Santorum, Chuck Todd notes. It happens to match the superPAC's message beautifully:

The Washington Post's Chris Cillizza reports that ad purchases indicate there will be 29 times more Romney ads in Michigan than Santorum ones.
