The American Mustache Institute (AMI) has endorsed Herman Cain for president of the United States. In a mostly shaven race, there weren't any other mustached options.

Committed to the advancement of upper-lip coverage and the "sexually adventurous lifestyle" it entails, the AMI fights for mustache-related causes across the land -- most notably a tax exclusion for Mustached Americans, who allegedly have to buy more grooming supplies than regular people.

If elected, Cain would be the first mustachioed president since William Howard Taft, who served in the White House from 1909-1913.

"AMI is fully confident that the support of the Mustached American community will buoy his presidency," AMI Chairman and self-proclaimed nuclear mustachologist Aaron Perlut told The Atlantic.
