House Majority Leader Eric Cantor invited House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi to sit next to him at tonight's State of the Union address....but she turned him down...sort of.

Pelosi had already invited another Republican, Rep. Roscoe Bartlett of Maryland, to sit next to her.

Pelosi tweeted around 12:30 p.m.: "I thank @GOPLeader for his #SOTU offer, but I invited my friend Rep. Bartlett from MD yesterday & am pleased he accepted"

Thanks to social media, the State of the Union address feels more like a high school assembly--or dance--than any of us could have imagined.
