Far from being a "safe haven," Sarah Palin's Facebook page has become unusually hostile to the former Alaska governor. Some of her supporters are incensed that Palin endorsed Carly Fiorina for California's Senate seat rather than Chuck DeVore, the tea party favorite.
"That's 2 strikes against you, little sister! One more and you're done," writes a commenter. "You're participating in the kind of political payback that us conservatives hate." After endorsing John McCain in his Senate race against conservative radio host J.D. Hayworth, Palin's tea party supporters seem to be growing increasingly frustrated. Another commenter writes, "I too am very disappointed in this endorsement. DeVore is a much better choice. I didn't understand McCain but figured she was obligated. Now I just don't trust her judgment at all."
The negative comments forced Palin to post an update, extolling Fiorina's conservative bonafides:
Update: I’d like to add a few things about my Carly endorsement because some reaction right out of the chute calls for more information:
Carly has been endorsed by the National Right to Life, the California Pro-Life Council, and the Susan B. Anthony List. She is pro-life, pro-traditional marriage, pro-military, and pro-strict border security and against amnesty. She is against Obamacare and will vote to repeal it and prevent the government takeover of private companies and industries. Carly is also a strong supporter of the Second Amendment. Like me, she is a member of the NRA, has a 100% NRA rating, and she and her husband are gun owners. She is pro-energy development and believes as I do in an all-of-the-above approach to energy independence. She is against cap and tax. And most importantly, Carly is the only conservative in the race who can beat Barbara Boxer. That’s no RINO. That’s a winner.
