Thursday on ABC's The View, Vice President Joe Biden spent an affable morning chatting with Whoopi Goldberg, Barbara Walters, and the show's other co-hosts. Among the topics of discussion: Biden's protracted courtship of his second wife (Sherri Shepherd: "You asked Jill five times! Five times to marry you!"); his chagrin at realizing he'd broadcast a dirty word to the whole world at the health care signing (Biden: "I was just thankful my mother couldn't hear her son"); and the reason Secret Service agents are so sexy (Shepherd again: "They look so emotionally unavailable").

As usual, The Huffington Post's Ben Craw does a bravura job of editing; his all-killer-no-filler distillation hits all the high points mentioned above. But it's also worth stopping by at the show's official site, where you can see a more serious-minded Biden offer his thoughts on the erosion of civility in public discourse, and discuss the man who helped him gain empathy for his political adversaries.
