John McCain; David Axelrod expressed some regret at failing to recruit Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan to run for President Obama's old Senate seat; and Connecticut state Sen. Sam Cligiuri (R) is dropping his bid to unseat Sen. Chris Dodd (D-CT) to challenge Rep. Chris Murphy (D-CT) instead, on the Connecticut GOP chairman's recommendation.
