Values Voters Love The (Former) Miss California

De-throned conservative Miss California Carrie Prejean spoke at the Values Voter Summit at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC today, and the people loved her. She got a standing ovation as she took the stage in the hotel's massive ballroom (a sizably larger ovation than her speaking predecessor, House Minority Whip Eric Cantor), delivering multiple applause lines on how she was raised with the conservative Christian values that, some maintain, cost her the beauty crown.
After Cantor's speech about the perils of our liberal-trending federal government, everybody perked up a bit, including the middle-aged men n the audience. Cameras and camera phones came out.

Beauty queens are some of the best people on earth at looking star-struck and overwhelmed, and Prejean managed such a look today before the previously sedate, buttoned-down crowd, for the largest political appearance of her post-accidental-stardom life as a politically charged figure.

After the speech, staffers ushered Prejean out of the ballroom lobby as she smiled and waved for photos. A young lady who was unable to get to her appeared on the verge of tears.
