Jimmy Carter pronounces the latest indifference towards President Obama as racism

President Jimmy Carter does it again. Straying from his usual areas of interest, Carter invoked his Southern roots to conclude that racism was behind Congressman Joe Wilson's outburst at President Obama and the recent 9/12 protests. "I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity toward President Barack Obama is based on the fact that he is a black man, that he's African American," said Carter, in an interview with NBC's Brian Williams. "I live in the south. I've seen the south come a long way and I've seen the rest of the country share the attitude of the south towards minority groups, at that time particularly the African-Americans," he added.
