Ah, Network Television

I just got around to watching the penultimate episode of Friday Night Lights thanks to NBC's streaming video. Solid episode. Great show. Possibly the best season of drama ever to air on American broadcast television (not sure whether or not it beats season one of Veronica Mars). Still, the broadcast format is pretty whack. A huge lowlight of the episode comes Lyla Garrity's really had it with with Jason and screams: "Screw you!" Screw, indeed. The word is "fuck." Or, at least, one would like to think that a script calling for a "screw you" when a "fuck you" was expected was intended to tell us something about the character rather than tell us something about FCC rules.
