Protests against President Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, California wildfires, the Sankta Lucia Festival of Light in England, a snowy football game in New York, Glasgow's annual Santa Dash, and much more.

Men wearing horned, wooden masks and dressed as Krampus prepare to participate in the annual Krampus parade on Saint Nicholas Day on December 6, 2017, in Sankt Johann im Pongau, Austria. Several hundred Krampus creatures from the region took part in this year's Sankt Johann parade. Krampus traditionally accompanies Saint Nicholas and angels in a house-to-house procession to reward children who have been good and warn those who have not. In recent decades Krampus parades have become an intrinsic part of local folklore and take place throughout the end of November and into the first half of December in the alpine regions of Germany, Austria, and Italy. Krampus usually wears large cowbells on his back that he rings by shaking his hips to ward off the evil spirits of winter. He also carries a switch made of branches or animal hair that he uses to whip bystanders. #

A Chinese woman drives past the rubble of buildings demolished by authorities in an area that used to have migrant housing and a clothing market in the Daxing District of Beijing, China, on December 4, 2017. Thousands of migrant workers have been forcibly evicted in recent weeks in a sweeping government safety campaign following a deadly fire at a housing settlement. Many migrants, who came to Beijing from poor rural areas to find employment, say they were given little notice to leave and cannot afford to move somewhere else. The government's plan to demolish the buildings was actually announced in a 2015 strategy to reduce and cap the capital's population, but the mass evictions were accelerated after the fire and have stirred public backlash. The migrant population typically works in jobs such as construction, sanitation, and deliveries. These jobs have effectively built Beijing and continued to keep it running. Some companies announced assistance and temporary housing for employees who have been affected, but many migrants say they have little choice but to move back to their hometowns. #
