The 2016 Dakar Rally

Leaving Buenos Aires on January 2, nearly 350 competitors started the 37th annual Dakar Rally: a two-week off-roading adventure through Argentina and Bolivia. The vehicleswhich include specialized cars, trucks, motorcycles, and quadbikesare currently on stage ten of 16 between Belén and La Rioja, Argentina. Bad weather conditions forced organizers to cancel or shorten four stages so far this year. Here is a look at Dakar 2016 in progress, as teams race to Rosario, Argentina, on January 16.
