In Paris: A Massive Rally of Defiance and Sorrow

In cities across Europe and around the world, marchers took to the streets to support the freedom of speech and offer condolences to the citizens of France, following last week's deadly attack on the staff of a satirical newspaper in Paris. The terrorist shootings left 17 dead over several days of violence. Today, in downtown Paris,  more than a million people marched in solidarity and sadness, denouncing the violence, and proclaiming "Je suis Charlie!" and "We are not afraid!"
