Is this President Obama's second or third SOTU? It's a semantic question. Obama addressed Congress a month after being inaugurated in 2009, when most presidents are just getting situated, and the White House didn't call it a "State of the Union," rather an "address to a joint session of Congress." Here at the Atlantic, we called it a State of the Union. Potato, potato.
