A spoof on Rembrandt's Anatomy Lesson
See Rembrandt's original.

During the period of protest against the war in Vietnam, there was a withdrawal from science. Astrology came to the fore. I had little patience with otherwise rational people taking it seriously, and mocked their credulity by gathering together disparate types born under the same sign. The "doctors" here were all born under the consellation Leo. Andy Warhol, James Baldwin, George Meany, Stanley Kubrick, and Alfred Hitchcock watch as Fidel Castro dissects a corpse in a takeoff on Rembrandt's The Anatomy Lesson. This is from my "Celebrity Astrology" series in Audience magazine. July-August 1972. -- Edward Sorel, from Unauthorized Portraits (1997)
