What We're Following This Morning

Trump triumphs: The GOP front-runner is now the party’s preumptive presidential nominee. He easily defeated Senator Ted Cruz in Indiana last night. Cruz, the U.S. senator from Texas, who needed to win the Hoosier state to stay in the race, suspended his campaign. On the Democratic side, Bernie Sanders beat Hillary Clinton, but the result is unlikely to make a difference to the contest. Clinton remains her party’s presumptive nominee.

Obama goes to Flint: The American president is visiting the Michigan city that has been affected by high levels of lead in drinking water. Obama is responding to a letter from an 8-year-old girl who said his visit would “lift people’s spirit.” Our most recent story on the Flint crisis here. Update: More here

A Canadian city is evacuated: All of Fort McMurray’s 60,000 people were ordered last night to leave as the city in Alberta was  threatened by a fast-spreading wildfire. Update: More here

May the Force be with you.
