Obama in the U.K.: The American president is expected make the case for Britain’s continued membership in the EU. Writing in the Daily Telegraph, Obama said: “The European Union doesn’t moderate British influence—it magnifies it.” Boris Johnson, the London mayor who strongly advocates the U.K.’s exit from the EU, in a rebuttal in the Sun appeared to suggest Obama’s view had to do with the “part-Kenyan President’s ancestral dislike of the British empire.” Britons vote on June 23 on whether to stay in the bloc or leave it. Suicides soar: The CDC, in a new report, says that the suicide rate in the U.S. is at its highest in three decades. They jumped 24 percent between 1999 and 2014. Full report here. Update: More here
