A controversial new law in Tennessee: The state’s Republican governor has signed legislation that allows mental-health counselors to refuse to treat patients based on the counselor’s religious or personal beliefs. A shooting in Baltimore: Police have shot and injured a 13-year-old boy who was carrying a fake gun that officers believed to be the real thing. Matt has the story here. The shooting comes just days after the city of Cleveland agreed to pay $6 million to the family of Tamir Rice, a 12-year-old boy who was shot and killed by police in 2014 while carrying a toy gun.
Aerospace news: Elon Musk’s SpaceX has been awarded an $82.7 million contract from the U.S. Air Force to launch a GPS satellite aboard its Falcon 9 rocket in 2018. The spaceflight company also plans to start sending unmanned rockets to Mars by that year.
