A big Presidents Day gift: David Rubenstein is donating $18 million to the National Park Service to fix up the Lincoln Memorial, the AP reports. The money will go toward repairing the memorial’s roof, polishing the marble, constructing a second elevator, and building 15,000 square feet of exhibit space below Abe’s feet.
On the campaign trail: Republican presidential candidates are preparing for this Saturday’s primary in South Carolina, where Trump leads Cruz and Rubio by more than 20 percentage points, and Bush, Kasich, and Carson are polling in the single digits.
