What We're Following This Afternoon

The road to the Supreme Court: The highest court of the United States announced that it would take up a legal challenge against President Obama’s executive actions on immigration, which have been blocked from implementation by federal courts since February 2015. More on that here.

The water crisis in Flint: Class-action lawsuits related to the Michigan town’s lead-tainted waters—and the health problems the toxicity has caused in residents—are expected to be announced this afternoon. The suits were filed against Michigan Governor Rick Snyder and several government officials.

Rumors of an endorsement: Could former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin be preparing to endorse Donald Trump for president? A handful of events suggest that may be the case: a small jet departed Alaska, where Palin lives, for Iowa on Monday, and Trump says there will be “a very special guest” at his event in Des Moines later this afternoon.

Winter is coming: Meteorologists predict that the season’s first big winter storm could bring a couple feet of snow to the East Coast. Yay.

Our stories from the morning are here.
