The FDA’s New Policy on Blood Donations: U.S. health officials will remove the country’s blanket policy that bars gay and bisexual men from donating blood, a ban that was instituted over 30 years ago during the early AIDS crisis, the Associated Press reported. There are some restrictions, however: Men who have had sex with another man in the previous year will not be eligible to donate blood. Update: More here.

Suicide Bombing in Afghanistan: Six NATO soldiers were killed in a suicide attack Monday near Bagram, the largest U.S.military facility in Afghanistan. U.S. officials tell several news organizations that Americans were among the victims.
