Russia says bomb brought down plane: Russia now says the passenger jet that crashed October 31 in Egypt’s Sinai peninsula with 224 people on board was brought down by a bomb. President Vladimir Putin said Russia would pursue those behind the attacks “without any statute of limitations.” Although there was much speculation in the wake of the crash that the plane was brought down by a bomb, Russia had not confirmed that until today—though it had suspended flights to Egypt.
