France vows response to attacks: President Francois Hollande said: “Terrorism will not destroy the Republic because the Republic will destroy terrorism.” He said he wants the state of emergency, imposed Friday, to be extended for three months.

The fight over Syrian refugees: Four Republican governors—Asa Hutchinson of Arkansas, Greg Abbott of Texas, Robert Bentley of Alabama, and Rick Snyder of Texas—say they won’t accept Syrian refugees in the wake of the Paris attacks. Meanwhile, President Obama criticized comments by some Republicans suggesting only Christian refugees be admitted, saying: “That’s not American. That’s not who we are.” Update: More here

A shooting in Minneapolis: Community activists are seeking the identity of the officer who shot a black man early Sunday. Family members identified the man as Jamar Clark, 24. He is reportedly on life support.
