‘Made in Israel’ label: Europe-bound goods made in land captured by Israel in the 1967 war with Arab states can no longer be labeled “Made in Israel,” under European Union rules unveiled Wednesday. Israel said the EU should be “ashamed” of itself.

Plane crash victims: Seven of the nine victims of Tuesday’s plane crash in Akron, Ohio, worked for Pebb Enterprises, a Fort Lauderdale, Florida, company. The other two victims were crew members.

Singles Day: It’s 11/11, or Singles Day, China’s biggest day for shopping. Alibaba, the Chinese e-commerce giant, broke its own record for sales, the BBC reports. Shoppers spent more than $14 billion on the site today. In comparison, on Cyber Monday, the biggest online shopping day in the U.S., sales last year hit $1.35 billion.
