What We're Following This Afternoon

The Benghazi hearing, cont’d.: As David observes, the hearing on Capitol Hill has so far been “snoozeworthy.” Hillary Clinton, the former secretary of state, is testifying before the House select committee on Benghazi about the attacks on September 11, 2012, that killed four Americans.

A deadly raid in Iraq:  An American soldier was killed in a raid by U.S. and Kurdish commandos on an Islamic State base in northern Iraq after receiving word the group’s hostages were about to be executed, the Pentagon says. The soldier became the first American service member killed in action in the country since the U.S. withdrawal from Iraq in 2011; 69 people were rescued.

McComeback: As Adam is reporting, McDonald’s stocks jumped after posting quarterly sales increases for the first time in two years. Thank China and the new Premium Buttermilk Crispy Chicken Deluxe sandwich for the turnaround.
