Inspections in Iran : The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency says his visit to Iran’s Parchin military site is “significant progress” in the organization’s investigation of the Islamic Republic’s nuclear activities. But Yukiya Amano also noted that environmental samples taken at Parchin were collected by Iranian officials before the IAEA’s visit. More here.

Volkswagen’s shares slide: They fell 20 percent after the EPA ordered the automaker to recall nearly 500,000 diesel vehicles. The automaker is accused of adding software to its cars that bypassed emission standards for smog. And, as Bloomberg points out:
