Evidence of Water on Mars in One GIF
See that? Those filament-like stains stretching across a rocky terrain? They’re evidence of water. On Mars.
NASA scientists announced Monday that they had discovered the strongest evidence yet that there’s liquid water on the surface of the Red Planet, something they’ve suspected for about a decade. It trickles down hills and canyons when it’s warm out, and dries up when it’s cold. NASA doesn’t know yet where it comes from, but who cares? It’s there!
Adrienne will have a piece up shortly on the implications of this new discovery, so stay tuned. Update: Here’s the link. And here’s a subsequent post from Adrienne on the question, “Is Mars contaminated by humans?”
